The AI Industrial Revolution: Where We Stand in 2026—and What Bangladesh Must Do Next
The AI industrial revolution is about to bring unprecedented change to the world. From wealth maximization to exponential productivity growth, progress will accelerate at a mathematical rate across every sector. One of my biggest goals for 2026, in shā’ Allāh, is to ensure that Bangladeshis receive a meaningful share of this progress.
We are living through a technological revolution that—since the discovery of electricity—may be the largest transformation humanity has ever experienced. From all visible signs, this appears to be the industrial revolution with the greatest magnitude. Allah knows best.
Why This Revolution Is Different
A fundamental difference between this revolution and previous ones—such as the invention of the engine or the computer—is that both the speed and the risk are extreme.
- The speed is so fast that unicorn companies can be built overnight.
- The risk is so severe that this revolution could even threaten human existence.
Another major risk is the centralization of power and resources. Power is already concentrated among a few global players. With AI, this concentration will intensify—shifting toward those who control the most powerful AI systems.
Who are they? The United States.China. ChatGPT. DeepSeek. Google.
The Real Risk for Countries Like Ours
For third-world countries like Bangladesh, the biggest risk is not the top-layer geopolitical competition.
Our risk is closer to home.
- The PhD research that once required sending students abroad can now be done by a highly capable AI.
- Bangladeshi freelancers handling large Fiverr or Upwork projects may lose work to AI-powered entrepreneurs elsewhere.
- Even within local companies, those who fail to master AI will gradually become irrelevant.
But here’s the other side of the coin.
The same AI that replaces can also multiply human capability.
- The PhD once funded by an American company at Harvard or Oxford can now be pursued independently using AI tools.
- A single individual can build an AI-powered company alone.
- One employee can deliver the output of ten people.
The outcome depends on preparation.
From AI Ready to AI Leader
Our mission is simple but ambitious:
AI Ready → AI Expert → AI Leader
To begin this journey, everyone needs a clear mental model of where the AI industrial revolution currently stands. Let’s build that understanding.
The Five Stages of the AI Revolution
If you’ve ever used ChatGPT—replied to an email, summarized a book, or generated an image—you’re already part of this revolution. But that’s only the surface layer. The technology behind Generative AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) is comparable to the invention of the engine. These tools are the “cars.” The engine is the real breakthrough. Just as engines eventually powered everything, AI will embed itself into everything.
The key difference?
Previous technologies only empowered humans.
AI will both empower and replace humans.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently stated that by 2025, AI will take over the jobs of mid-level engineers—doing the same coding work that once paid millions annually. To understand this transformation, we can use Sam Altman’s 5 Levels of AI framework.
Sam Altman’s 5 Levels of AI
Level 1: Conversational AI — The ChatGPT Moment
This phase changed how we interact with computers. Human-like conversation became normal.
But these models spoke more than they understood. They lacked deep context awareness and struggled with complex problem-solving.
AI could talk, but it couldn’t think.
Level 2: Reasoning AI
This is where intelligence became obvious.
Models like ChatGPT-o1, DeepSeek R1, and Gemini 2.x can reason logically, solve math problems, analyze situations, and make decisions.
AI no longer just answers—it solves problems.
Level 3: Agentic Systems
Here, AI doesn’t just think—it acts.
- AI agents browse the internet and complete tasks autonomously.
- Tools like Cursor and Claude Code enable a single developer to build complex apps overnight.
- Research, content creation, and execution are increasingly automated.
Level 4: Organizational AI
At this stage, multiple AI agents work together—replicating the output of entire teams or organizations.
Claude co-founder Dario Amodei describes this as:
“A country of geniuses inside a data center.”
Level 5: Innovator / Scientific AI
This is where AI leads discoveries.
In biology, climate science, medicine, and physics, AI becomes a true research partner—and eventually, the primary innovator.
Where Are We Right Now?
We are exiting Level 3 and rapidly moving into Level 4.
Today’s AI agents:
- Use tools autonomously
- Retain semantic memory
- Complete 4–5 hours of human work independently
- Conduct deep research
- Browse and interact with the web on our behalf
The transition to Organizational AI—where multiple agents collaborate—is happening faster than most people realize.
This moment is critical.
If we ride this wave now, we can multiply our output—both individually and nationally.
Individual Preparation: A Practical Starting Guide
- Learn to type fast (preferably without looking).
- Before starting any task, clearly imagine the desired output.
- Describe that output directly to an AI tool.
- If you have a sample, show it and ask for a prompt.
- Customize and reuse prompts continuously.
Do this consistently, and AI fluency will follow naturally.
Tool Mastery by Field
- Writers: Almost all AI tools are useful.
- Designers: Image generation via ChatGPT, Gemini Nano, Banana.
- Editors: Veo3, Sora, Kling.
- Analysts: ChatGPT Thinking Mode / Agent Mode for spreadsheets and analysis.
- Developers: Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Cline—master at least one agentic IDE or CLI.
As patterns emerge, save your best inputs in a personal prompt database.
At this point, you are an intermediate AI user.
From AI User to AI Builder
Learn core GenAI concepts:
- Tokens
- Context
- Context windows
- Models
Then:
- Get a free API from an AI studio
- Start building small tools
- Experiment and iterate
For tools:
- Paid: Claude Code or OpenAI API
- Free: Gemini CLI
- Audio tools: ElevenLabs, OpenAI Whisper, Gemini TTS
When problems arise (and they will), don’t panic. Talk to the AI, debug step by step, and move forward.
Connecting Git with your CLI is a major productivity boost.
Building AI Agents
Agent builders will be in massive demand.
Start with n8n:
- Ask ChatGPT how to build your desired agent
- Learn node connections, error handling, and monitoring
Single-agent systems are complex but achievable.
For multi-agent systems, explore:
- LangGraph
- CrewAI
- OpenAI Agent Kit
Key concepts to understand:
- Task decomposition
- Planning
- System prompts
- Agent memory

Final Thoughts
We are standing at the edge of the most powerful industrial revolution in human history.
This wave can either erase us or elevate us.
The difference will come down to preparation, mindset, and action.
May Allah grant success to all of us—in this world and the Hereafter.
